Meet Molly, our Head Coach.
Molly founded Solo Sessions as a 17-year old, with a passion for music and helping people hone thier craft. Wether they were 16 or 60. "Age is just a number!"
Molly has been on stage from the age of 8, starting with her local talent show, moving to Edinburgh theatres and more recently, performing in the London's West End at the 'Dominion Theatre'.
Prior to studying, Molly regularly performed her original music in gig venues across Edinburgh. At 17, Molly made her debut performance on the main stage of 'Party at the Palace' music festival in Linlithgow.
Molly gained her Level 1 and 2 'Estill Voice International' qualifications whilst completing her BA (Honours) degree in 'Musical Theatre' from Bath Spa University, at the 'MGA Academy of Performing Arts'.
She has aspirations to gain her 'EFP', 'Master trainer' and 'Instructor' qualifications with 'Estill Voice'.
As 2026 progresses, Molly hopes to release more original music on Spotify and continue performing regularly at wedding and corporate events with trio: 'Copper Blonde'.

Meet Lucas, our Bass, Electric & Acoustic Coach.
Lucas Gilchrist is our Bass, Electric Guitar and Acoustic Guitar coach. He graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a Bachelors in Popular Music and is currently touring as a session bass player.
Having toured the UK and Europe extensively, Lucas has played at some of the UK’s most iconic venues, working with some amazing artists such as; James Emmanuel, Cathal Murphy and The Jazz Emu. He has also performed on stage alongside the well renowned Charlie Stacy and Corto Alto in Cathal Murphy’s UK tour.
Lucas will also be supporting the famous Nile Rogers (CHIC) three times over the summer of 2026, as part of James Emmanuel Band. James Emmanuel is well known from his recent performance at the Royal Albert Hall and recently received the Scottish Music Award at the ‘Barrowlands’ in Glasgow.
His recording credits include: Cathal Murphy’s Track ‘GETS ME BY’, playing alongside Grammy Nominated guitarist Ella Rae Feingold, famously nominated for her guitar parts on Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak’s hit record ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’.
His years of experience in playing a plethora of genres, improvisation and passion for song-writing, makes Lucas a one-of-kind coach that we are lucky to have on our team.

Meet Owen, our Saxophone, Clarinet & Piano Coach.
Owen Musgrove is our Saxophone, Clarinet and Piano coach. He graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a BA (Hons) in Music in 2025, where in this time, he started to perform around Scotland, expanding his skills in a multitude of genres; pop, funk, disco, soul and jazz-fusion, with a background that started in classical music.
He plays regularly at weddings and private corporate events across the UK and Europe, with bands ‘Harmonia’ and ‘The Forget Me Nots’ who are both represented by two of Scotland’s top music agencies: ‘Coast Entertainments’ and ‘Hireaband’. They perform the genres of music that sparked his love for playing, when he started out.
Owen is also a recording session musician for solo artists like, ‘Rosie H Sullivan’ and ‘Steff Corr’, he is currently writing original music within ‘Echo Hotel Collective’ - who received a 5-star review from ‘Discovery Music Scotland’ on their Debut Album. Owen created all of the horn arrangements for their 2025 show ‘More is More’ which included: 2 trumpets, 2 saxophones, 2 trombones and a sousaphone!
His musical theatre credits include: 'Grease', 'Spongebob', and 'Cher the musical', where he performed in the orchestra pit on Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute for for 'Allegro' Theatre Company.
He enjoys coaching, as he gets the opportunity to pass on his knowledge to others, seeing every client grow and develop their skills, in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

Meet Katy, our Piano Coach.
Katy is currently studying medicine at Dundee University and primarily coaches on a 'cover' basis.
Katy has a plethora of music qualifications and talent. Both in
advanced-higher qualifications and grades out-with her education with the well known 'ABRSM' exam board.
When asked to describe her 'Solo Sessions' experience so far, she commented: " 'Solo sessions' creates a safe environment for students of all abilities to learn and develop their musical talents.
Lesson plans help structure and record individual progress, as well as setting fun and achievable goals!".
Katy's favourite song to teach is: Happy birthday! "anyone can play it and it makes them happy when they achieve it. There will always be a time when you will be glad you can whip out a happy birthday on the piano!".
